Premium Meal Night: Unlike Most Nights

Mustard colored linen tablecloths, a small lit candle and silverware pre-set on tables were present in what appeared to be the V.I.P. section of the cafeteria.
Anyone walking into the Strebel Dining Commons on Tuesday could notice this slightly different ambiance.
Premium Meal Night began with a waiter or waitress asking for drink orders and quickly bringing over a light salad topped with vinaigrette dressing.
It was served in what appeared to be a deep fried tortilla shell. After finishing the salad, there was a surprise at the end...the tortilla shell was actually fried cheese.
During this intimate dining experience, drinks were refilled and chatter was initiated among the tables. Before you knew it, huge NY strip steaks, mounds of linguine and shrimp scampi and succulent chicken filled the tables.
Unlike most nights, Premium Meal Night allowed students to choose how they wanted their meals prepared. For instance, steak could have been cooked medium rare or well done.
As the meal went on, dining professionals were available to fulfill any dining needs.
The meal ended with dessert. There were two dessert options; apple crisp and chocolate cake. The chocolate cake slices were big enough to feed three people.
Any portion of the meal that was unfinished was wrapped neatly to take home.
Overall, this was a great meal and it was well worth the $5 participation fee. Students were satisfied with their meal and impressed with what ARAMARK prepared. Students left with full stomachs, to-go containers and big smiles.
"It was a great way to show students that good food can be cooked here, if more money was available," said senior Alexis Bond.
The next question students will be looking to have answered is when is ARAMARK going to host another Premium Meal Night?
